Albuquerque Bike to Work Day 2008 is Friday
[Albuquerque Bike to Work Day 2008 Logo]This Friday, May 16th is Bike to Work day in Albuquerque. The food stops are at the usual times (6:30-8:30) and are in the usual places:

  • Downtown: NM Rail Runner Downtown Station at 1st and Central
  • Uptown: Uptown Transit Center near America's Parkway and Indian School
  • Journal Center: NM Rail Runner Los Ranchos/Journal Center Station and the N. Diversion Channel Trail
  • Erna Fergusson Library: Paseo del Noreste Trail and Erna Fergusson Library
Last year I made grand plans to hit every food stop in town. In actual fact I slept in. I still like the *idea* of visiting every food stop, however.

EDIT: This year there is also a food stop in Los Lunas.

EDIT: And hey, since I'm talking about bikes: 22.01mph coming into work today! I took the long route, as I was having a great ride and wanted a faster time. 14.65 miles in 49 minutes, 59 seconds. That is a personal best on that route, and I like how close it was: .01mph into 22mph, and one second away from a 50 minute ride.

I gotta get my bike tuned up if I'm gonna go do that. The gears are full of sawdust (thanks dad) and the tyres are ancient (artifact of purchasing a used bike).

Any suggestions for a shop to get a tune-up performed?

I go to Two Wheel Drive, largely because I've had the friendliest customer service experience. I've not had a good experience with the shoppe slightly closer to UNM, I don't remember what it is called.

I've also had some work done at REI and can't complain, but I would use Two Wheel Drive and be prepared to leave your bike for a day.
